Sorenson Capital is excited to welcome Suril Butala to the Bay Area with his promotion to Vice President on the Ventures team.
Suril joined Sorenson Capital in August 2021 where he focused on investing in late-stage B2B software companies, and in his new role as Vice President, he will support early-stage technology startups.
As an analytical and thoughtful technology investor, Suril has made a tremendous impact in working alongside entrepreneurs to support their business needs, particularly in the financial infrastructure and Go-To-Market domains. Suril recently took his knowledge to paper and co-authored the firm’s Best BoD Deck series, which outlines how CEOs, Marketing Leaders, and Sales Leaders can best prepare for their Board of Directors meetings.
“What gets me truly excited every day is the opportunity to learn about a wide range of challenges and then collaborate with entrepreneurs who are dedicated to crafting solutions,” said Suril. “I love being a trusted sounding board for our management teams, where I can help them think through the pros, cons, and alternate outcomes of their business and product decisions.”
“Suril is a unique investor that can not only identify and diligence the best B2B software startups, but he also becomes an extension of Sorenson’s portfolio companies, helping them analyze difficult situations and shorten their learning curve to growth,” said Ken Elefant.
In addition to investing in and supporting B2B software leaders, Suril is the Co-Chair of Sorenson’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. When he’s not skiing, kayaking, or at a concert, he spends his time volunteering to mitigate climate change and helping small businesses with their FP&A.
